We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic scientist with training in life sciences, biotechnologies, or health sciences to support strategic partnership with a major biopharmaceutical company. The person will closely work with Peking faculty and scientists at the industrial partner to facilitate interactions and mutual understanding between the two organizations, proactively promote and coordinate joint research projects, and provide consultancy to PKU faculty members interested in bringing academic findings into medical applications.


Location: Beijing or Shenzhen (requires traveling between Beijing and Shenzhen, and occasional traveling to international R&D centers of the industrial partner)


Qualifications:
• Strong biology, biotechnology or translational research background with 3-4 years of post-doc experiences in a leading academic lab (or equivalent training or working experiences)
• 1-2 years pharmaceutical or biotech research experiences is desired;
• Must be interested in developing a career in promoting commercialization of basic research findings or promoting technology transfer from universities to industries
• Strong communication skills in both English and Chinese and good publication record are musts
• Knowledge about Chinese academic research environment and culture is a must


Responsibilities:
• Build strong relationships with technology transfer offices or research management offices in various PKU campus and schools
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of PKU in areas related to biomedical R&D: strength, weakness, sources of research grants, key labs of relevance to Pfizer R&D mission etc
• Provide recommendation for PKU and the industrial partner on specific collaborations to leverage each others strength and to address mutual interests
• Develop familiarity with key PKU research labs, e.g. PI research interests, recent publications, potential collaboration areas with the industrial partners
• Develop familiarity with bioparks or incubator programs that are associated with PKU
• Actively participate on-going collaborative project discussions between PKU faculty and scientists at the industrial partner’s R&D centers; provide mentoring to students working on joint projects, ensure sufficient resources to these projects, promote regular communications with the industrial partners, ensure timely delivery of project objectives
