Drones, humanity little helpers!

Greetings, adventurers!

Today we will introduce you the drones that our héroes in EXO: Mankind Reborn will be able to control during their expedition to the surface.

Throughout the years that humanity spent in the leafy natural cavities that served as a refuge, humans did not cease their development. Studies were continued, applying and improving the use of exoenergy to their technology. As a result of this application, the drone assistance model was born.

Each tribe developed a different variant according to their specific needs; although later all the projects would be put in common. In this way, thanks to the use of drones, the tribes were able to carry out small scouting missions abroad, taking samples and collecting data from the environment, until they considered that the expedition with human beings could be carried out.

The Paleartic tribe, given the extension of its region, chose to specialize their drones in the field of land recognition and possible threats detection in the environment. To do this, they equipped their drones with 360º cameras.

In the Ethiopian zone, bugs activity became unusually aggressive, and a series of small assaults by these to the CVs followed. This forced the tribe to focus the development of their drones on the military side, incorporating weapons to repel such attacks.

Meanwhile, in the Australian area, the team of engineers that worked hand in hand with Dr. Hickling implemented surgical campaign material: monofilament scarp, tweezers, and suture lasers, among others, making these drones an advanced sanitary post.

Finally, the tribe of the Nearctic cavities improved their drones by enhancing their efficiency in the extraction of raw materials from the environment. Later on Desmond joined the program, who, after several adjustments, managed to optimize the cargo compartment of the drone.

These four types of drones designed specifically by each tribe will be of great help to our heroes during their expedition. As they were once used as topographic tools, logistics and even military, these drones will make easier the work of our characters in the performance of their roles in the game.

For today we say goodbye, but not before reminding you that the start of the campaign on Kickstarter is just around the corner.

Be prepared and join us in the resurgence of humanity!

Daku the Shaman – First 24H FREE character

Greetings, adventurers!

Today we want to make a special announcement that will make this project even more appealing for you…

Today we introduce you Daku, the shaman. This character has been exclusively designed to reward to all those backers who show their support during the 24 first hours on the project, and they will get it for free.

Yes, you read that right!

It is a completely new hero, who will bring more variety to the game and who will have his own miniature and card. As we have said it will be free for all those who support us in the project during the first 24 hours with the pledge level specially created for this purpose. But do not worry, because if you do not make it on time, you can always include it later as an add-on for a reduced price.

Here you have a little background of this enigmatic character.

“Australian Wise men tell that there was one tribe that remained on the surface after the cataclysms against any recommendation given by the government in that era. This tribe, formed by aborigines from central Australia, did not bow to nature and remained on the surface, challenging the elements. But, as we all know, this is impossible … or not? “

Daku is a descendant of the Anangu tribe, shrouded in an aura of mysticism and only known for the legends told by the Wise men of the Australian cavities. His tribe, against all odds, managed to survive the growing plague of hyper-evolved insects, taking refuge in a sacred place, the Uluru rock mass, also known as Ayers Rock.

This hero is an aborigine shaman that excels at natural medicine and who managed to master the exo energy for different purposes after a great effort.

You will discover more about this character during the campaign, so we encourage you to participate!

Before we say goodbye, we want to show you in exclusive the first couple of hero and exoanimal miniatures painted by the fantastic Studio Giraldez team. These are Desmond and Little Joe.

These miniatures are models manufactured in the same material in which the miniatures will be supplied, and as you can see, the level of detail is spectacular.

Hope you like them. See you in the next article!

Cheers,

Claire and Mel

Greetings, adventurers!

As every Friday we bring you another EXO: Mankind Reborn article. Today we will talk about the last of the four main heroes from the game. But before that let’s take a look to the three unveiled heroes previously.

First of all, there’s the fearless Kaindra and Sharik, the ones specialized in combat. Then we revealed Yuri and Nurasyl, a couple with great exploration skills. And the most recent pair, Desmond the harvester and big Little Joe; a unique duo capable of surviving in the most hazardous environments…

So it is time to introduce you a heroin in charge of the medical support of the group: Dr. Claire Smith. This researcher who comes from the CV-7 in the Australian zoogeographic area comes along with her lab companion Mel, a genetically improved koala thanks to the exoenergy and capable of channeling it to heal.

Here is part of the history of these two great friends:

Born in a well-off family from the region, since she was little she had access to the best teachers, who noticed her great skills for health science.

At the age of fourteen, Claire had the chance to prove her knowledge creating a vaccine that would prevent a strange virus pandemic unknown until then. From that moment, she became part of the best medical research team, under the tutelage of Dr. Hickling, a renowned CV-7 scientist.

During those years working for the research team, she studied the application of exoenergy in the field of health, making great discoveries such as the “nano-poultice” or the Reflex enhancer SENTINEL. These devices allowed both exoanimals and humans the capability of healing irreparable skin damage or the improvement of the nervous system by reducing the response time against possible attacks.

At some point during her rehearsals, Claire listened to DR. Hickling talking about a possible expedition to the surface made in conjunction with other cavities from the rest of the world. So as you may imagine, her curious spirit and her willingness to adventure made her to be the chosen one of her CV to be part of the expedition.”

Handelaar the wise.

And what can we say about Mel? He is small, fluffy and capable of transmitting healing energy thanks to Claire’s modifications she made in her lab. His combat skills are almost zero but you won’t want to see an angry koala!

So we conclude with the cast of EXO: Mankind Reborn heroes. But before saying goodbye we want to show you a sneak peek of the heroes’ cards:

Stay tuned as we are in the final stages of the pre-campaign and there is just one month left ahead before the Kickstarter campaign goes live.

See you in the next post!

Desmond and Little Joe

Greetings, adventurers!

Today we want to introduce you a new hero from EXO: Mankind Reborn. Desmond the harvester arrives from the dense forests of the Nearctic caves.

“Desmond was the youngest member of his family. For generations they were responsible for supplying the entire tribe with food and materials for everyday life. Even though his grandfather and his father considered themselves as simple “shopkeepers”, he wanted to go further and stand out.

His experience in the CV-32 expeditionary corps taught him to take advantage of all the resources available in the environment. From simple pieces of wood, scavenged metal plates and an exoenergy cell he was able to assemble small structures such as an exodome or small fully functional mechanical saws.

He spent many years in the corps until he finally decided to retire at age 46. In the year following his dismissal he had enough time to share most of his knowledge with his sole son, so that he could continue their family duty. Then, a letter from the council of elders arrived. On it, they requested a volunteer to set off on the largest expedition known so far; destination, the surface.

Given the nature of his tribe, many were the volunteers who showed up. All but one were discarded, Desmond. The most determined and most experienced harvester in the Nearctic area.”

– Handelaar the wise.

And as you also know, all of our heroes have their own exo companion natural from their cavity region. Accompanied by Little Joe, a grizzli bear, these two will be very versatile thanks to their resource-saving skills.

Here is a brief passage from Little Joe’s story:

“How did I meet Joe? I remember it perfectly. During one of the expeditions that we made to the most remote cavities in search of different materials, something rather funny happened.

During the first night, when we got into sleeping bags after having dinner, we left the remains of food and provisions without storing. Next morning everything was gone. In later days, it happened again. One night I decided to stay on guard, and then I saw him. It was a magnificent specimen, one of the greatest I had ever seen. A grizzly bear was sitting, eating our own food…

After several attempts, I managed to gain his confidence. I noticed he could make it much easier for me to carry materials, since his size and strength would make him a great beast of burden, as well as a fierce protector.

In order to control his wild nature, I asked our biologists to implant a neuronal amplifier, which he now carries over his head. This meant that, in addition to further developing his intelligence, he became sensitive to the latent exoenergy of the area.”

– Desmond

And this is the history of this unique couple…

We hope that quality of their art and models will make you want to keep on discovering more about the world of EXO: Mankind Reborn.

Cheers,

Plast Craft Games Team

Yuri and Nurasyl

It’s Friday and that means that it’s time to a new reveal in EXO… this time we bring you a new character!

Today we want to introduce you to Yuri, the Kazakh explorer of the tribe of the CV-11 cavity, located in the Palaearctic zone. Yuri is accompanied by his faithful exoanimal companion: Nurasyl, a female golden eagle.

With this character we want to show you different steps in the design phase ilustrated one of our artists: Alejandro García (Artstation: https://www.artstation.com/alejandrogarcia).

Now let’s read some fragments about their history:

“As a child, Yuri was always a curious boy. At the early age of 5 years, he was surprised by his father trying to go outside the limits of the CV-11, and at seven years he disappeared a whole week.

When he returned, he argued that he had entered the depths of the CV-11 “to see what was down there”. He brought with him a small eagle chick he found in an abandoned nest during his little getaway. This bird of prey over time became his family’s most precious asset.

The training of the animal began based on the teachings of the Kazakh culture, since it required several hours a day, sacrificing hours of sleep and rest, and it always had to be the same person who trained it to be able to create a strong bond with the animal. Part of this training consisted of feeding the bird of prey with his own hands and even cradling it with songs, all of this so that she could learn to recognize his voice. In this way, and after seven years of hard training, Nurasyl –the name he gave the animal- no longer obeyed anyone but Yuri.

At the age of fourteen, and with the help of Nurasyl, he drew an exact map of the area in which he lived, including places that only the best explorers of his tribe knew. For this reason, when a volunteer’s request to embark on the expedition to the surface arrived, nobody doubted that he would be the one chosen.”

Regarding Nurasyl, of which we have already spoken in this passage, it seems that she received some improvement to be more efficient in her task of exploration …

“When Yuri showed us the raptor, we immediately came up with all kinds of ideas about which modules we would create to improve the animal’s abilities.

We confirmed it was a female, because when the animal reached maturity her wingspan exceeded one and a half meters, way superior to a male one. We decided to work in a small reactor to boost her speed, and installed transmitters and a small camera next to her head to be able to recognize the areas without Yuri being in danger.”

Irina Smirnov, biomechanical assistant of the CV-11 tribe.

Here you have the first images of what will be the miniatures of Yuri and Nurasyl:

As you can see, we continue with the combined base system that will allow both hero and exoanimal to perform actions separately or together. In addition, we can already reveal what the hole in the base is for: It will serve to mark your miniature with an exoenergy gem of the corresponding color of each character to quickly identify it.

This will bring benefits and disadvantages in the game, but it is something that we will see in further articles.

We hope you like this character as much as we do. Stay tuned because there will be new entry next Tuesday.

Cheers!
